As November draws to a close, the invitation is not to rush toward December, but to sit, breathe, and open to what this month has revealed.
In Tantra, Tantric meditation is not just about stillness—it’s about meeting what arises with awareness. Wisdom isn’t a destination; it’s a deepening. The more we can be with the truth of our lived experience, the more clarity emerges.
This week, we lean into meditative practices that sharpen insight, quiet the noise, and reconnect us to the knowing that has always been within.
Tantric Practices for Insight
You don’t need a mountain retreat to access wisdom. What you need is presence. Here are three simple Tantric practices you can try this week:
1. Trataka (Candle Gazing)
Sit comfortably and gaze at the flame of a candle without blinking for 1–3 minutes. Let the mind still. Then close your eyes and focus on the afterimage at your third eye. This builds concentration and activates inner vision.
2. Ajna Chakra Mantra
Chant the seed sound “OM” (AUM) slowly and deeply, directing the vibration to the space between your brows. This sound is said to awaken the Third Eye and bring clarity.
3. Inquiry Meditation
Sit with the question: What truth wants to be seen right now? Breathe into the stillness and allow any answers, sensations, or emotions to arise. Don’t rush to label—just witness.
This Week: Orphan Thanksgiving – A Meditation on Belonging
Speaking of wisdom and clarity—one truth I’ve learned over the years is this: family isn’t just who you’re born to. It’s who shows up.
This Thursday, November 28th, I’m hosting Orphan Thanksgiving here in San Diego. If you have nowhere to go, if your biological family is far away, or if you simply want to share a meal with conscious, heart-centered people—you’re invited.
Bring a dish to share. Come with your presence. Show your gratitude.
Let’s create a new tradition rooted in chosen family, authentic connection, and the recognition that we belong to each other.
DM or Reply if you’d like to attend!
This is what November has been teaching us all along: wisdom lives in connection. Clarity comes when we allow ourselves to be seen and held. And sometimes, the most profound Tantric meditation is simply sitting at a table with people who get it.
From Insight to Integration
Tantric meditation isn’t about escaping life—it’s about becoming more intimate with it. When you sit in silence and allow the mind to settle, you create space for the deeper wisdom of your being to emerge.
This is the final week of our “Wisdom and Expansion” journey. Next month, we begin a new cycle—one that invites us to open our hearts and embrace the messiness and beauty of connection.
But before we move forward, pause. Honor all that you’ve seen this month. Insight without integration is noise. Wisdom becomes real when we live it.
Reflection Questions
- What inner truth have I uncovered this month?
- Where am I still resisting clarity?
- How can I bring what I’ve seen in meditation into my everyday choices?
- Who are the people in my life—biological or chosen—that reflect my values and hold me accountable to my truth?
With gratitude for the journey,
Shiva J
P.S. — If you’re joining us for Orphan Thanksgiving, please let me know what you’re bringing so we can coordinate the potluck. And if you’re celebrating elsewhere, take a moment this week to thank the people who’ve been your teachers this year—even the challenging ones. They’re all part of the path.
