The Final New Moon Planting Seeds in Sacred Closure

final new moon

There’s something bittersweet happening in my heart this week. As I prepare to lead our final New Moon Ceremony this Friday, December 19th, I’m feeling the weight and the gift of endings.

For years, these bi-monthly moon gatherings have been a cornerstone of our community. We’ve sat in circle through full moons that cracked us open and new moons that held us in the fertile dark. We’ve witnessed each other’s transformations, held space for tears and breakthroughs, and remembered—again and again—that we are not alone on this path.

And now, as I step into my doctoral work and book writing, this chapter closes. Not with sadness, but with deep reverence for what we’ve built together.

Unity Through Ceremony

This month’s theme is Unity and Oneness, and there’s no more powerful place to experience that truth than in ceremony. When we gather in circle, something shifts. The illusion of separation dissolves. We remember that our individual healing is collective healing. That your breakthrough is my breakthrough. That we rise together.

The Final New Moon has always been about beginnings—planting seeds, setting intentions, dreaming into what wants to be born. But it’s also about trust. Trust in the dark, for it is where growth begins. Even when the path ahead is unseen, trust that we are being guided. Know that we are held, even in uncertainty.

This Friday’s ceremony carries both energies: the closing of one cycle and the planting of seeds for what’s to come.

What This New Moon Asks of Us

As we close out 2025, the final New Moon invites us to get honest:

  • What are you ready to call in for 2026?
  • What intentions have been whispering to you that you haven’t yet spoken aloud?
  • What would it feel like to plant seeds with the support of community holding you?

This isn’t about New Year’s resolutions or performative goal-setting. This is about soul-level alignment. About saying yes to what’s trying to be born through you, even if you don’t yet know how it will unfold.

And you don’t have to do it alone.

Why This Ceremony Matters

I could simply end these gatherings quietly, but that doesn’t feel right. Endings deserve to be honored. Transitions deserve ritual. And this community deserves to come together one last time to acknowledge what we’ve shared and to bless what’s ahead—for all of us.

Here’s what we’ll do together on Friday:

✨ Create sacred space through breath, sound, and intention
✨ Reflect on 2025 – What did this year teach you? What are you grateful for?
✨ Release what no longer serves – Let go of stories, patterns, or beliefs that are ready to fall away
✨ Plant seeds for 2026 – Set clear, heartfelt intentions for the year ahead
✨ Witness each other – Share, listen, and hold space as a community
✨ Close with gratitude – Honor this chapter and bless the new one beginning

This ceremony is for anyone who wants to:

  • End the year with intention rather than exhaustion
  • Feel held by community during a time of transition
  • Plant seeds with the power of collective energy
  • Honor what’s ending and welcome what’s beginning

A Personal Reflection

I won’t lie—I’m going to miss this. These ceremonies have shaped me as much as I hope they’ve served you. They’ve taught me how to hold space, how to trust the group field, how to get out of the way and let the sacred do its work.

But I also know that stepping back is part of my own growth. Just as the moon waxes and wanes, so do the seasons of our work in the world. This ending makes space for new beginnings—for me, and for all of us.

If you’ve been part of these ceremonies before—thank you. Your presence has meant everything.

If you’ve been curious but never joined—this is your moment. Come as you are.

If you have a ceremony credit—please use it. This is our final gathering.

Practice for the Week: Personal New Moon Ritual

If you can’t join us Friday, here’s a simple ritual you can do on your own:

  1. Find a quiet space on the evening of December 19th (or close to it)
  2. Light a candle and sit in stillness for a few breaths
  3. Reflect on 2025 – What are you grateful for? What did you learn?
  4. Release – Write down what you’re ready to let go of, then burn or bury it
  5. Plant seeds – Write 3-5 intentions for 2026. Speak them aloud with conviction
  6. Close – Place your hands on your heart and say: “I trust what’s ending. I trust what’s beginning. I am held.”

Closing Reflection

The New Moon reminds us that darkness is not empty—it’s full of potential. That endings are not failures—they’re completions. That we are not separate—we are woven together in ways we can’t always see but can always feel.

This Friday, let’s weave together one last time. Let’s honor what was, release what’s complete, and plant seeds for what wants to emerge.

I hope to see you there.

This Week’s Invitation

What seeds are you ready to plant for 2026? What would you like to call in with the support of community?

Share with me—reply to this email, comment on the blog, or show up on Friday and speak it into the circle. Your intentions matter. Your presence matters.

With deep gratitude and reverence,
Shiva J

P.S. — If you’re on the fence about joining, let me say this: You won’t regret showing up for yourself in this way. Ceremony changes us. Community holds us. And this particular gathering—our last—deserves your presence if you feel even the slightest pull. Trust that.
