Chandra and Intuition: Awakening the Inner Moon

There’s a quiet voice within that doesn’t shout. It hums. It nudges. It stirs like a current beneath the surface—and when I slow down enough to hear it, everything shifts.

This week, as we close out July, we return once more to the Moon—not the glowing body in the sky, but the inner Moon, the part of us that feels without explanation, that senses the truth before it arrives in words.

In Vedic Astrology, the Moon is not merely emotional—it is consciousness itself. Known as Chandra, the Moon governs the Manas, or the sensory mind. It reflects our perception, our receptivity, our capacity to know through feeling.

Intuition: A Tantric Sense

In Tantra, intuition isn’t a special gift—it’s a skill that’s honed through presence, through inner listening, through subtle attunement to the moment. We cultivate it when we’re grounded in our bodies and open in our hearts.

This week, I’ve been paying close attention to what my intuition sounds like. It’s not dramatic. It doesn’t demand. It feels like a calm certainty, a gentle “yes” or “not yet” that arises when I’m honest with myself.

What I’ve come to learn is that my intuition is often buried beneath the noise of urgency, expectation, and distraction. But when I return to my breath, place my hand on my heart, and ask, “What’s true here?”—something deep responds.

Vedic Reflections

Where is your Moon placed in your chart? Is it strong, or challenged by other grahas (planets)? Is it nourished by Venus, or held in tension with Saturn?

These placements tell us something vital about our emotional patterns—but also about our intuitive style. Some of us feel everything all at once. Others sense deeply but struggle to trust it. The Moon shows us how we feel our way through life.

And in Tantra, we trust that the body—especially the heart—is the temple through which this knowing is revealed.

Today’s Thought Exercise

Take a moment this evening to sit in stillness. No goal. No performance. Just a question:

“What is my body trying to tell me that my mind keeps overriding?”

Write down the first thing that arises. Don’t judge it. Let it be enough.
