Sometimes, life places us on a precipice—not to test us, but to show us how far we’ve come. And maybe, more tenderly, how far we’ve strayed from what we once promised ourselves. August begins here, in the 10th House Dharma: a quiet clearing in the climb, asking not what we’ve achieved, but whether we’ve been true.
The Sun now moves through sidereal Cancer, bathing us in the waters of feeling, memory, and the ancestral. Cancer teaches power not as conquest but as caretaking. When this solar current lights up the 10th House—the house of karma, vocation, and visible impact—it invites us into a sacred reckoning.
Karma Bhava, as it’s known in Vedic Astrology, doesn’t only reflect career in the Western sense. It speaks to 10th House Dharma: the soul-aligned current of service that only you can fulfill. The 10th House governs not just what we do, but why we do it, and how that ripples through the world.
This house asks
Is your power aligned with your presence? Are you leading from embodiment, or habit?
Tantra reminds us that purpose is not a thought—it’s a vibration. A felt-sense. It lives in the root of the spine, the belly, the breath. When your work no longer fits your body, it’s not a failure. It’s evolution.
A few years ago, I stood at one of those summits. I was part of a thriving spiritual community, deeply respected—and yet, increasingly hollow. One day, as I walked out of a gathering, my heart pounded, not from excitement, but from a growing sense of misalignment.
I sat down, took a breath, and asked
What if I didn’t actually know who I was supposed to be? What would I choose then?
That breath became a gateway.
That question unraveled the role.
What came after was terrifying and truer.
This week, let yourself ask the questions you’ve been postponing. Power isn’t found in certainty—it’s found in devotion to the deeper current.
Today’s Thought Exercise
Sit quietly with your spine supported. Place one hand on your belly, one on your heart. Breathe slowly.
Then write
Where is my soul asking me to take greater responsibility—not for control, but for truth? What role is being completed? What sacred work is asking to begin?
Special Invitation
This month, we open two ritual gateways:
- Full Moon in Capricorn: “Summoning the Sacred Spine” – August 9
- New Moon in Cancer: “Womb of the Waters” – August 22 Both ceremonies invite you to embody your leadership and realign your nervous system with your soul’s deeper rhythm. Through breath, mantra, and shared presence, we walk together into deeper truth.
